Cream On Top Of Cream

Hey guys ! Long time no see… Or at least it felt like a long time. I’m so happy to finally talk about summer since June is almost over but with this crappy weather in Paris, I’m not sure what season to expect. Today is the last day of my final exams, finally over so time to celebrate. But I’ve been through so much stress during those past 7 days and not even because of my exams. In fact if you don’t follow me on Twitter (which you should), I had a tonne of technical problems that I didn’t expect but now it’s all good. However I want to improve the aesthetic of my blog some time soon, I don’t know when yet but I will definitely need someone to help me out.

Today’s article is very random but I have that shelf in my room where I keep all my beauty products and since I’ve done some cleaning, I want to show you the main products I will be using this summer while rocking a dress and my sunglasses. Of course If you follow my blog for a while, you noticed products I have already featured in many of my articles but I like to go back and forth with what I use. Sorry if sometimes it can be a little repetitive, I tried to avoid repetition as much as possible.

Mixa Sensitive Comfort : What I Think ?

I don’t know about you but I’ve never been keen on deodorant because of the smell. In fact, deodorants usually STRONGLY smell flowers.

Mixa came out with this new range of deodorants with a new circle cap which makes it more comfortable. I was dying to try it because I was interested in the smell. Indeed Mixa has always been one of my favorite brand because their product smell absolutely amazing and fresh so I couldn’t be disappointed about this.

I got the first pink one with My Little Flower Box. My first impression was that it’s a very appreciable deodorant that doesn’t have a harsh smell. It smells fresh, that’s basically the only word I can say about it. It’s simple, works wonderfully and you can put a tonne without obviously showing everyone. Then I got the blue one which is with “Cold Cream”. There’s no difference whatsoever but the packaging. It smells exactly the same however I find the packaging very attractive. As for the circle cap thingy, I don’t think it changes something compared to other spray deodorant. It’s slightly less “aggressive” but no big deal.  Continue reading “Mixa Sensitive Comfort : What I Think ?”

☼ Ready To Tan ? ☼

Hello beautiful people ? How are you doing ? I’m honestly so SICK of this sh*ty weather in Paris. Like, come on ! It’s May but I feel like everyday is a throwback to December, it’s almost depressing knowing that Summer is in 2 months ! Can you believe it ? (I can’t but I don’t even know where Spring is)

When I think about Summer, I immediately imagine myself tanning on the beach with the sound of the waves and my sunglasses on. Ironically tanning is the hardest thing because sunburns happen. So, to get a flawless tan there are multiple products for before and after tanning. I selected some of my favorite ones from those I’ve used. There are mostly oils because I find it easier to apply and less sticky. But SPF is the most important criteria you have to look for because depending how sensitive your skin is and how long you are going to be exposed, choosing the right SPF can make a big difference. As far as I’m concerned, I use SPF 50 because my skin is very sensitive and I like a full protection. As for after tanning, hydrating is the key word and what works best is aloe vera because it has healing properties.  Continue reading “☼ Ready To Tan ? ☼”

Benefits Of Oils

nvl article.jpg

Oils have many benefits for us. However for a long time I thought that because my skin and my hair are oily, putting oils on top would make things worse. Apparently I was SO wrong and I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one thinking that .

In fact, depending on what kind of oils you choose, it’s going to have different effect on you. Every oil has an impressive amount of vitamins and the best part is one oil can be use for different purpose so SAVE YOUR MONEY and find out which oil is best for you. Today, I decided to help you out a little by showing you what kind of oil I have and all the benefits : Continue reading “Benefits Of Oils”

Face Cleanser : What I recommend

If you follow my blog for a while, you know that I’ve tried many cleansers for a long time. Today, I finally decided to put out an article dedicated to 6 cleansers I tried and separate those that I like and the ones I don’t. For an acne prone skin person, I’ve always used products made for my skin type or all skin types.

Cleansing your face is very important no matter what you do on a daily basis. Doing it twice a day is enough. First in the morning, it allows your skin to “wake up” and start the day fresh and protected from the pollution with a good skin care routine. Then at night, your face needs more attention because, like I said, with all the pollution, the cold or the sun, your dirty hands… your skin has been through a lot in just one day and a good cleanse is welcome.

Of course, there are different sorts of cleansers : foam, exfoliant, gel, soap and oil. The most common kind is gel cleanser like Effaclar by La Roche-Posay or Garnier Pure Active. As far as I’m concerned, I’m sticking to that because I think it cleanses better and a little bit goes a long way. However, I was very surprised by the texture of the Gentle Skin Cleanser by Cetaphil. Once you apply it, it doesn’t foam but you feel that it’s cleansing.

As for the 3 cleansers that I’m not keen on, I simply don’t find them effective enough. It doesn’t work as well as I would like for me. But shame on me, Nivea cleansing mousse  is actually  for dry and sensitive skin. But what is, in my opinion, the biggest problem is the amount of product necessary. Their Clean Deeper is not better because it’s supposedly an exfoliating cleansing gel, kind of. But no matter what it claims to do, no results or improvements for me. That’s why I expected a lot from Garnier Pure Active which is the perfect product for acne prone skin. At first, it worked perfectly for a while and I was swearing by it. Then, after a long time using it, it turned out that the results got less and less visible. Besides, the brush thingy is a fail. When you have pimples, the last thing you want to do is touch them and this brush is not helping you at all, I’m very disppointed since the packaging makes it seem so nice. No thank you.

3 Moisturizers You Should Purchase

Spring is on its way but I still feel that cold fresh air coming to me everytime I go out, am I the only one ? I’m sure not. To avoid that, I layer on as many fashionable pieces as possible but at the end of the day, when I take all those thick layers off, my skin still feels dry (wtf?). Well this is when a good moisturizer comes handy. Since my younger age my body skin, counter to my face, has always been overly-dry and if you are the same you know how annoying it is when you have to moisturize every freaking single day. As far as I’m concern I don’t have the patience to do it every day even if it doesn’t take me long. In result, this is when my trek desperately looking for a moisturizer started.

Of course, if you read my previous articles about skin care you know, by now, my gratefulness to dermatologists. However, I don’t feel that spending 50€ to hear that my skin’s dry can help me more. There are very affordable and still effective moisturizers in the market and there are closer than you think. I’m not talking about those 100$ cream made with whatever natural ingredients and gold extract. No need for that. My personal preferences are for creams instead of oils. The thicker the better, and the more comfortable I feel.

Why I love La Roche-Posay So Much

La Roche Posay.jpg

If you follow me since the beginning, you should know by now my love for good skin scare companies and especially La Roche-Posay. I’m not sponsored by them in any way, I bought their products with my money and I try them for my skincare routine. La Roche-Posay is a dermatologic laboratory company based in France. They work with a team of professional and expert specialised in skincare and treatments of skin problems like acne, dryness or scares. They have a large range of skin, body, hair care and makeup adapted for all types of skin and problem that you might face.

In France, this company is a low/middle price range that is accessible to everyone in drugstore. It’s slowly starting to gain popularity in the U.S by what I’ve seen when I went. I found it at Target from 10$ to 50$ which is way more expensive than here but since it’s imported from France, that explains why. However, the choice was restricted to few essentials and you can definitely find more online, either on Amazon or another drugstore sites. As for other country, I’m not sure where there is and isn’t La Roche-Posay but thanks to internet (if you have it) you can find pretty much everything.

Masks You Need To Try

Hello hello ! Since I started this blog, I put myself in an experiment program called “Cindy tests it all”… Kidding, but I did try a lot more skin care wise since October 2015. For some reason, masks have always been my favorite skin care product that’s why I tried so many to share my faves for a healthy and glowy skin even in the dark.

I have a combination skin so I buy either masks adapted for my type of skin or for all types, it depends on how I much I want to try the product. However it doesn’t always do the job correctly trust me. All types of skin are different and by that I mean your combination skin will not react the same than your friend’s combination skin. Important to know that. Normally you can detect your type of skin by yourself because you’re the most adequate person when it’s about your own skin obviously but it’s not always easy. For example, if you’ve used dry skin products for a long time when you are combination, your skin can become more oily through time. If you’re unsure, get an appointment with a dermatologist or simply with an esthetician (cheaper of course). So make sure to choose the right products, especially with masks because it suppose to “cure” your skin’s issues.

My Skin Care Routine

Hey guys ! I wanted to share my skin care routine for such a long time…

Now about my acne, I am planning on posting a little something about (will see). I had severe acne with red pimples on my forehead and my cheeks. It was painful physically and mentally for me because I felt so bad that I had to cover those pimples with heavy concealer (not foundation). It is only in June that I went to see a dermatologist who told me that my acne was “cystic acne” which can only be treated with a lotion (benzoyle peroxyde) + pills (if it works if it doesn’t it was an another kind of treatment, more severe). That is what I have done during summer and fortunately it worked really well for me. I think it is the first time in my life that I follow a treatment perfectly. Also quickly want to mention this video from a youtuber I follow, and in opinion she does a good explanation of acne and treatments etc. (but I don’t know about LED light)
